A Carterville man will be celebrating the 2016 Mardi Gras in historic New Orleans after his name was drawn in the Missouri Lottery’s first “Mardi Gras Trip-of-a-Lifetime” promotion drawing held today. Darek Crow and his guest will travel to New Orleans for five days and four nights, including a tour of the city, a behind-the-scenes experience into the making of the Mardi Gras by the artists at Mardi Gras World™, a ride on a float in a parade, attendance at a ball and parties, costumes,  $1,000 cash and more.

“This is an experience of a lifetime,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “Not only does he get to celebrate Mardi Gras in the iconic city, but he also gets to ride in the parade, attend the Orpheuscapade Ball and pre-party, receive an allowance for formalwear for the events and have $1,000 to spend however he pleases. The great news is that there are two more drawings left!”

The two remaining drawings will be held on Feb. 19 and March 19.
In addition to Crow’s win, 10 other entrants’ names were drawn today to win $500 cash.

The $2 “Mardi Gras World” Scratchers game offers a top prize of $25,000. To play, match your numbers to the winning numbers to win the corresponding prize. Find a “mask” symbol and win the prize automatically. Find a “crown” symbol and win double the prize.
