HANNIBAL MANAGER UNCOVERS $25,000 ON BREAK

Story Photo The manager of Abel’s Quik Shop on Highway 61 in Hannibal received a big bonus on her work break after she uncovered a $25,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery "Jumbo Bucks" Scratchers ticket. Tamara "Angel" Swartz, 30, said she bought three Scratchers tickets before she headed outside for a "smoke break." She bought one $1 "Triple Cash" ticket and two $2 "Jumbo Bucks" tickets. The second "Jumbo Bucks" ticket turned out to be worth $25,000. Swartz said she and her boyfriend, Larry Davis, plan to use the winnings to complete some remodeling on their house. They also plan to use the money to put in a swimming pool for their three children. "I had just talked to my boss about taking the week after the Fourth of July off," Swartz said. "I hadn’t even thought about going anywhere, but now we might." "Jumbo Bucks" is the 380th Scratchers game offered by the Missouri Lottery. It officially went on sale Oct. 13, 2001.
