SOUTHWEST MISSOURIANS WIN MISSOURI GETAWAYS
Three Missouri Lottery players, all from southwest Missouri, will be choosing a vacation spot after their names were drawn to win a trip of their choice to one of five special destinations in Missouri. Richie Anthony of Mt. Vernon, Edna Hill of Aurora and Shannon Lemons of Exeter, all were selected as trip winners from among 12,691 entries -- 7,095 entered through the Lottery’s Web site and 5,596 entered through the mail -- in the ninth of 10 drawings. The ninth drawing was held today.
The promotion, which began April 6, is a joint effort between the Missouri Lottery and the Missouri Division of Tourism. A total of 30 Missouri weekend getaway trip prize packages, provided by the Division of Tourism, will be awarded.
To participate, players can purchase a $2 "Explore Missouri" Scratchers ticket. Players can win cash prizes of up to $20,000 or one of five 2002 Ford Explorers and $500 cash in the instant-win game.
If the ticket is a non-winner, the player can enter on-line or by mail for a chance to win a trip package. The entry deadline for the final trip drawing is today. The last drawing for three more trip prizes will take place on June 21.
In addition to a chance to win a new Ford Explorer or a Missouri trip package, the Missouri Lottery also will pay withholding taxes on both prizes.
