FULTON MAN UNCOVERS $1,000
A Fulton retiree plans to use some of his prize winnings to honor his brother after uncovering a $1,000 prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Fun & Fortune" Scratchers game. Charles "Charlie" Harris, 67, said he bought seven or eight Scratchers tickets last Friday when he and his wife stopped in Mertens Mini Mart in Fulton. The next to the last ticket he scratched turned out to be the big winner.
"I am going to buy a stone for my brother’s grave," Harris said. "I’ll probably have my lawn mower worked on, too."
"Fun & Fortune" is the 372nd Scratchers game offered by the Missouri Lottery. The $1 game officially started Aug. 25, 2001.
