Story Photo A Rolla man is $30,000 richer after uncovering a top prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "One-Eyed Jack" instant game. William "Bill" Skaggs said his wife, Ruth, redeemed some lottery tickets worth $6 when the couple stopped in the Do Drop In Convenience store in Rolla around 6 p.m. Jan. 23. With those winnings, she bought some more tickets, including one $2 "One-Eyed Jack" Scratchers ticket. When they scratched off the tickets in their car, they were elated to find out one of the tickets was worth $30,000. Skaggs, who drives a truck for MTS Trucking, said he and his wife plan to use the money to pay bills. Ruth also plans to buy a new computer with the windfall. "I’ll be nice not to have any bills for awhile," said Ruth, who is the kitchen manager for Shoney’s in Rolla. "One-Eyed Jack" is the 389th Scratchers game offered by the Missouri Lottery. It officially went on sale on Dec. 5.
