MACON RETIREE UNCOVERS $10,000

Story Photo A retired Macon man is $10,000 richer after he redeemed a winning Missouri Lottery ticket and used that money to buy one "Casino Royale" Scratchers ticket. Jesse Simons, 61, said he turned in a winning $5 ticket at Ice House, 306 W. Bourke in Macon, on Saturday, and he used those winnings to buy one $5 "Casino Royale" Scratchers ticket. He uncovered his $10,000 prize while at the store. Simons, who previously owned a tavern and also worked in maintenance for Macon Public Schools, said he doesn’t have any plans for the money. "Casino Royale" is the 408th Scratchers game offered by the Missouri Lottery. The $5 game, with a top prize of $100,000, officially went on sale Saturday, April 20.
