ONE LOTTO TICKET SOLD WORTH $1.1 MILLION

What a way to start 2002! One Missouri Lotto player who buys tickets at Salama Super Market, 4873 St. Louis Ave. in St. Louis has 1.1 million more reasons to be celebrating the new year after his or her ticket matched all six numbers drawn Saturday to win the $1.1 million Lotto jackpot. The winning numbers are: 12, 15, 17, 33, 36 and 41.

This is the second time in as many weeks that a Missouri Lotto player hit the jackpot. Kenneth and Vicky Duckworth of Chillicothe claimed the $4.9 million Lotto jackpot won Dec. 22.

Missouri Lottery players have exactly one year from the drawing date to claim jackpot prizes. The winner has 60 days to chose if he or she would like to take the jackpot in one lump sum, which in this case would be approximately $550,000 before taxes, or in 25 annual payments of approximately $44,000 a year before taxes. If no choice is made in 60 days, the jackpot is automatically paid out in 25 annual payments.

If you are holding the winning ticket, be sure to sign it and put it in a safe place until you can take it to one of the Missouri Lottery’s four offices located in Jefferson City, Kansas City, Springfield or St. Louis.

To date, 126 Lotto tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold since the game began 15 years ago.
