Montgomery City Woman Celebrating Second Lottery Win

Story Photo

Deborah Duckworth, 51, is a self-described “Keno girl,” admitting that she does not play Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets that often. However, her frequency of playing Scratchers will soon change after winning a $10,000 prize on a “$1,000,000 Platinum Payout” game. Duckworth’s Scratchers game was purchased at Brad’s Kwik Store, 603 N. Sturgeon, in Montgomery City.

When claiming her $10,000 prize at Missouri Lottery’s headquarters on Dec. 23, Duckworth explained that her fiancé is the big Scratchers player.

“He likes to play the Scratchers tickets,” she began. “Sometimes I’ll pick the tickets out and play them.”

Duckworth happened to pick the right ticket on Dec. 22, saying that she “almost passed out” after uncovering the prize.

This marks the second Missouri Lottery win for Duckworth, who won a $19,000 prize on Club Keno few years ago. Duckworth still plays Club Keno frequently, but she believes she will start playing Scratchers more often after her big win.

The bride-to-be is planning on saving her prize in hopes of putting it towards her wedding in March.
$1,000,000 Platinum Payout” is a $20 Scratchers game that was introduced on May 19. The game, which offers players the chance to win up to 20 times on a single ticket, currently has more than $22 million in prizes remaining, including a $1 million top prize.
