PORTAGEVILLE WOMAN WINS $100,000 POWERBALL PRIZE

A Portageville homemaker finally checked some Missouri Lottery Powerball tickets that were "lying around," only to find out that one was worth $100,000. Joanie Joyce, 45, said she recently gave one of the tickets to a clerk to check, thinking it was worth $100. "The clerk told me to add a few more zeros," Joyce recalled, remembering when she found out she had won the $100,000 prize. She said she plans to use the money to pay bills and pay off her car. Joyce purchased her winning ticket for the Feb. 20 drawing at Martin & Ivie Gas & Go, Highway 162 and Interstate 55 in Portageville. She let the computer randomly generate the numbers on her winning ticket. Those numbers were: 8, 9, 19, 22 and 25. To date, 581 Powerball tickets sold in Missouri have matched all five white-ball numbers drawn to win the $100,000 prize.
