Greentop Woman Claims A Second Jackpot Prize

Greentop resident Tabitha Nolte discovered she had a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving morning. That’s when she scanned her Show Me Cash ticket at a Kirksville gas station and learned she had won not her first, but her second, Show Me Cash jackpot prize. This time her ticket yielded a $65,000 payday from the Nov. 26 drawing.

“I still can hardly believe it,” she exclaimed at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City.

The 41-year-old nursing home employee was overcome with emotion upon realizing she had won again, following her $81,000 Show Me Cash win on June 1, 2013.

“I scanned my ticket twice,” she said. “Then I came running up to the counter and asked him (the clerk) to print the numbers from last night. I even had him read them out loud to me just to be sure, and then I started to cry.”

Nolte went on to explain that she has seven sets of Show Me Cash numbers that she plays, including a set that her friend, Barb, used to play that she now plays in her honor. It was those numbers that matched those randomly selected in the drawing.

In light of her second jackpot win, and a sense of holiday spirit, Nolte’s plans include acts of generosity. She will help a couple of friends secure more reliable transportation, as well as pay her son’s college tuition next year. And what about Barb, whose numbers made it all a reality?

“She’s taken care of, too,” Nolte shared with a laugh.

After helping with a couple of Barb’s bills, they plan a shopping trip to the Mall of America in Minnesota.

Nolte bought her winning ticket at Pick-A-Dilly, 1112 S. Baltimore St. in Kirksville, using Barb’s hand-picked number combination of 19, 24, 27, 28 and 38. Pick-A-Dilly will receive a $500 bonus for selling the jackpot ticket.

Show Me Cash is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. Nolte’s ticket marks the 335th Show Me Cash jackpot prize since the game began in 2008. In the last year, there have been 53 winning Show Me Cash jackpot tickets – with an average prize of more than $182,000, including a $988,000 jackpot won in June.
