A spontaneous decision to purchase Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets while shopping at McKenzie Point Dierbergs, 7233 Watson Road in St. Louis, has landed a St. Louis resident a $30,000 top prize. Aaron Plaster, 30, was grocery shopping with his girlfriend when he decided to buy $10 worth of Scratchers tickets.
“My girlfriend thought ‘The Walking Dead’ ticket looked scary, so I bought one,” laughed Plaster.
The couple was at home when they played their tickets and were understandably excited when they saw a $30,000 prize on one of them,
“I was screaming and yelling,” explained Plaster. “She didn’t believe me and kept telling me to check it again and again.”
Plaster plans on putting all of his winnings into savings in the form of a nest egg and use the money as needed.
The Walking Dead” is a $2 ticket introduced on Sept. 8 with more than $8 million in prizes remaining, including five additional $30,000 top prizes. The ticket also carries added value with an accompanying “second-chance promotion” where players can enter tickets through their My Lottery account for chances to win trips to California to see the “Talking Dead” in person, among other prizes.
