Drawn by luck, James Scott felt inclined to purchase a Missouri Lottery “Lucky 7s Playbook” on Sept. 17. He’s feeling pretty pleased with his lucky instinct after it paid out a $250,000 top prize. As a fairly regular Lottery player, Scott enjoys an assortment of Scratchers and Draw Games, but admits that he had only played the “Playbook” once prior to buying his winning ticket. Scott purchased his $250,000 “Playbook” ticket from Casey’s General Store, 1117 St. Francis St., in Kennett.
Scott uncovered his quarter-million dollar prize at home and was in such disbelief that he had to have his son verify the win.

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. He almost had to pick me up off the floor,” he joked.

The 43-year-old Hornersville resident wasn’t the only family member having a tough time believing the windfall; Scott’s father was in disbelief until they checked the ticket at the Casey’s General Store where the ticket was purchased.

“My dad’s heart dropped right out of his chest,” he continued.

Once his son graduates from high school this year, Scott is looking forward to paying for his college tuition with his winnings, which he believes will be the most rewarding aspect of winning the $250,000. The top-prize winner thinks he may invest some winnings into a newer house or truck as well; however, he is most excited about the financial ease the windfall will bring saying, “This will let us see a little bit more sunlight.”

Lucky 7s Playbook” is the only Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket to offer six games in one. Introduced on March 31, the $20 ticket has more than $16 million in prizes remaining. Scott is the fourth player to win the $250,000 top prize, with two additional $250,000 prizes remaining.
