Mr. T's Liquor Store Contributes More Than $627,000 to Public Education

For the third consecutive year, Mr. T’s Liquor Store, 510 U.S. Highway 412 in Cardwell, was inducted into the Missouri Lottery’s Million Dollar Club, a group of 35 retailers, for selling more than $1 million in Lottery products last year. To celebrate the achievement, the Missouri Lottery hosted a customer appreciation event at the store on June 5.
“The real winner is public education,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “Lottery sales at Mr. T’s Liquor Store alone generated more than $627,359 for public education in calendar year 2013. In the past three years alone, Mr. T’s Liquor Store has contributed more than $2 million to public education. We can’t thank them enough for helping us Play It Forward.”
Reardon explained that the Million Dollar Club is a way to honor retail locations that are going above and beyond to raise money for a variety of programs, including A+ Scholarships, Virtual Schools, Special Education Excess Costs, Access Missouri, the Classroom Trust Fund, library acquisitions and educational scholarships.
“The customer appreciation event is our way to both celebrate the store’s success and reward their customers by awarding prizes,” Reardon said.
