Forgotten Lottery Ticket Yields $100,000 Top Prize

Story Photo

Preoccupied with work and day-to-day activities, Charles Redfern, a restaurant manager from Joplin, forgot about the Missouri Lottery tickets he purchased on July 6. It wasn’t until a couple of days later that Redfern remembered about his tickets and revealed a $100,000 top-prize on “$100,000 Bankroll.”

Redfern, 50, purchased his winning ticket at Casey’s General Store, 4800 S. Rangeline Road, in Joplin. The first-time Lottery winner’s only plan for his jackpot is to be financially responsible and pay off all of his bills in hopes to become debt free.

$100,000 Bankroll” is a $5 ticket that began June 23 with more than $12 million in prizes remaining. Redfern was the first top-prize winner claiming the first of six $100,000 prizes. Track all remaining Scratchers prizes at MOLottery.com
