Rolla Man Discovers $10,000 Powerball Ticket

For a full week, Steve Wagoner unknowingly carried around a Powerball ticket worth $10,000. It wasn’t until the Rolla man asked a retailer to check the ticket that he realized he had won the $10,000 prize for matching four white-ball numbers and the Powerball number from the June 14 drawing.

“I even fell in the river with it in my wallet,” he shared, laughing as he recalled the time span between the drawing and the day he learned he had won.
Wagoner, who plans to use the prize money toward a down payment on a house, plays Powerball each Wednesday and Saturday.

“Oh, yeah, no sense in stopping now,” he responded, when asked if he will continue to play the game on a regular basis.
Wagoner purchased his winning Powerball ticket at Casey’s General Store, 110 St. Pine St. in Laddonia, using the Quick Pick option to randomly select the numbers for him.

Powerball is a multi-Lottery Draw Game played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $70 million.
