Lisa Cockrell is celebrating a $250,000 win after uncovering the top prize on a Missouri Lottery “Lucky 7s Playbook™,” a new offering that contains six different Scratchers games in one booklet. According to Cockrell, her big win came courtesy of an accidental discovery.

“I found $16 in the pocket of my shorts. Then I had $4 in my purse, so I thought it must be a sign,” she teased about her decision to buy the $20 book of tickets.

Even though she generally purchases Scratchers games “only on rare occasion,” she noted the Playbook “because there are so many different ways to win.”

Her initial purchase scored a $50 payout, which she then cashed in for two additional Playbooks. The second booklet soon had her returning to Price Cutter, 1013 E. 60 Highway in Republic, to find out if she had really won a $250,000 prize.

“My husband and I looked at each other in disbelief,” the 51-year-old nurse said. “We thought there just had to be something wrong.”

Plans for the winnings include paying off bills and “maybe a trip and some home improvements.”

The “Lucky 7s Playbook” is a $20 game, which began on March 31. It offers top prizes of $250,000, as well as thousands of other cash prizes ranging from $20 to $50,000.  Remaining prizes for this game – which currently total more than $17 million – can be viewed at MOLottery.com.
