A daily stop before work has paid off for one Webb City resident. Every day before work, Ricky Green, 55, and his co-worker Tim always make a quick stop for snacks, drinks and, more often than not, Missouri Lottery tickets. On June 9, the duo stopped at Casey’s General Store, 8084 E. Seventh St., in Duenweg, where Green purchased a “$100,000 Fortune” ticket and uncovered a top prize.
Green, a frequent player of many Scratchers tickets, said he was shell-shocked and could not believe he was looking at a winning ticket. So much so, he kept his big win hidden from his faithful co-worker until later in the day. When Green finally did tell Tim, he offered to drive him to the nearest Missouri Lottery office to claim his prize.
“I haven’t given it much thought yet,” said Green, referring to how he will spend his winnings. “So much has happened in one day. I would rather wait until I have the check in my hands before I make any plans.”
“$100,000 Fortune,” a $5 ticket that offers thousands of prizes ranging from $5 to $100,000, officially started on April 14.
