The Missouri Lottery’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) has received the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting for the 14th year in a row. The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded to the Lottery by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
“We are honored to accept the GFOA award again this year,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Lottery. “Our job here at the Missouri Lottery is to provide funds for public education, so it’s vital that we have transparency in how we operate. Our chief financial officer, Judy Gehrke, and her staff work hard to make sure our CAFR fully communicates our finances in order to meet those expectations.”
The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
