$1 Million Ticket Claimed in St. Louis

St. Louis* resident and loyal Powerball player Linda Davis won a $1 million prize after matching all five white-ball numbers drawn in the May 31 drawing.

Davis, who plays Powerball every Saturday night, got the good news when she called the Lottery’s winning numbers hotline, hearing her number combination of 15, 27, 31, 34 and 48 announced via the recording.

“I got my little ticket, and I thought, ‘Oh, my God,’” she recalled of her initial reaction. “It was definitely an O-M-G moment!”

Davis said she then went online and checked her numbers again, just to be sure.

“I signed the back just as soon as I thought this might be true, and I put the ticket away,” she shared, with a laugh. “But I sure couldn’t get any sleep that night.”

Davis purchased the winning ticket at Shop ‘n Save, 9521 Lewis and Clark Blvd., in Moline Acres. The win marks the 10th time a Missouri player has won the $1 million Match 5 prize within the past year.

Winning numbers hotlines are available in each of the Lottery’s four regions:  St. Louis, (314) 340-5805; Kansas City, (816) 795-0203; Springfield (417) 888-4271; and Jefferson City (573) 751-1111.

This Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is estimated at $257 million.
