A relatively new Missouri Lottery Show Me Cash player scored big, winning a cool $214,000 on May 14. Patricia “Pat” Beauchamp of Halfway started playing Show Me Cash about nine months ago. Beauchamp, 69, has bought each of her weekly tickets, including her big winner, from Woods Supermarket, 703 E. College St., in Bolivar. She used Quick Pick to match the winning numbers: 4, 12, 18, 28 and 37.
Beauchamp played a handful of Missouri Lottery games in the past, but after recently being introduced to the Show Me Cash game, it has become a favorite of hers that she plays weekly.
After realizing she had a winning ticket, Beauchamp verified her numbers at MOLottery.com, but still did not believe she was a winner.
“I thought the numbers must have been entered wrong on the website,” explained Beauchamp. “I just couldn’t believe my luck. This never happens.”
When it comes to spending her new jackpot, Beauchamp plans on holding up her end of a longtime promise by splitting her winnings with her sister, Nancy, who lives in California.
“It’s been a running joke for a while now that I play for the both of us, and if I win, we split it,” she explained.
As for her half of the winnings, Beauchamp is counting on becoming debt-free by paying off all of her bills. She is also hoping to have a little left over to fly out to California to visit her sister.
