Painter Primed For Vacation After Lottery Win

Brandon Miles was on his way to a job when he and his co-workers stopped at the Kum & Go store at 3623 Sunshine St. in Springfield to pick up a soda and some snacks. Miles, a house painter, said his co-workers bristled when he also purchased a Missouri Lottery “$100,000 Fortune” Scratchers ticket.  They changed their tone when he uncovered the top prize of $100,000.

“They always give me a hard time when I buy Scratchers tickets,” Miles said of his work mates.  “Nobody believed me when I scratched off a $100,000 winner.”

Miles, 27, purchased his winning ticket on May 1, and says he buys a few tickets every couple of days.  This is his first big win.

“Don’t be jealous,” Miles advised his amazed co-workers. “You can’t win if you don’t play.”

The Springfield father of four said he intends to start a fund for each of his children, pay bills and maybe plan a vacation to Mexico.

$100,000 Fortune” is a $5 ticket that offers chance to win up to 25 times on a single ticket and a top prize of $100,000.
