Centralia resident Jerome Janke, 58, is feeling lucky after uncovering $25,000 on a Missouri Lottery “Lucky 7s Playbook” on May 8. Janke bought the winning ticket after work at Break Time, 1411 W. Monroe St. in Mexico, when intuition told him he should play a Scratchers.
Janke, a weekly Scratchers player, said when he got home, he was so busy tending to his expansive fruit and vegetable garden that he almost forgot all about his ticket. After revealing his $25,000 prize, Janke called his wife and took her out to dinner. The couple plan on using a majority of the winnings to further pay off their house.
“I think that’s the smart thing to do. It will get us a little bit closer, at least,” said Janke.
“Lucky 7s Playbook” is a $20 game with 122 chances to win with more than $24 million prizes still available, including all five top $250,000 prizes. Track all remaining Scratchers prizes, or learn more about any of the Lottery’s games or promotions, at MOLottery.com
