Raymond Love of St. Louis was on the way home from picking up some car parts when he decided to take a chance on the Missouri Lottery. His decision resulted in a $100,000 prize.

“We stopped at a gas station to get some cigarettes,” began Love. “I told my buddy, ‘I’ll give you $5, grab me one of those 20 Times.’”

His friend bought him a “20X The Cash” Scratchers ticket at Jeffco BP, 3998 Jeffco Blvd., in St. Louis. Love, 23, scratched the ticket later at home.

“I guess you could say it was a blessing, and I won,” he recalled. “I’m just a casual guy. Every now and then, maybe once or twice a week, I’ll buy $10 worth of tickets.”

Love said the money would be used to purchase a home for his wife, Megan, and two children.

“What I’m going to do is buy a small house, a decent size house, so I have a place for me, my wife and my children to grow up in,” he stated. “It will help us out tremendously.”

Even though he was just a “casual” player, Love said he was thankful he took the chance.

“You can’t win, if you don’t play,” he said. “The stars and moon were aligned, is all I can say.”

20X The Cash” is a $5 game that officially began Dec. 30, 2013. The game features a top prize of $100,000. To date, more than $8 million in prizes, including two top prizes, remain in the game. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
