A truck driver from Naylor claimed an $80,000 Show Me Cash jackpot at the Missouri Lottery office in St. Louis on March 31. Bryan Emerson, 49, said he buys one Show Me Cash ticket with EZ Match and one Powerball ticket every Friday. His Quick Pick Show Me Cash ticket matched all five winning numbers on March 15, and Emerson won $80,000.

“I play it every week,” began Emerson. “That’s when I get home, and I always go to the same little ole store. That’s where I buy my tickets.”

Emerson purchased his winning ticket at Naylor Quick Connection, Highway 142 E., in Naylor. He found out he was the winner upon returning the following weekend.

“I let them girls at the store scan it,” he recalled. “They knew that somebody won it. They looked at me and said, ‘You’re the one.’ I thought, ‘Well, that’s pretty neat.’”

The winning Show Me Cash numbers for March 15 were:  2, 3, 4, 5 and 31. There were two winning jackpot tickets sold for that drawing, so two players split the $160,000 jackpot. The other winning ticket was sold at Fastrip in Washington and was claimed by Janet Hall of Union. The two stores will split the $500 bonus for selling a winning Show Me Cash jackpot ticket.

Asked if he was upset about the split, Emerson said, “Shoot, no. I’ll take what I can get.”  He didn’t have many plans for the windfall, but he offered that he might buy his wife, Ginger, “a new pair of shoes.”

Summing up his experience, Emerson said, “It can happen. I didn’t really believe it, but I guess it can.”

Show Me Cash is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins.

For an extra $1 at the time of purchase, players can add EZ Match to their ticket and win prizes up to $500 instantly. Emerson claimed the 310th Show Me Cash jackpot since the game began in 2008. In the last 12 months, 59 Show Me Cash jackpots have been awarded for an average amount of more than $146,000.
