A Jefferson City firefighter felt the heat when he uncovered $10,000 on a Missouri Lottery “Lucky 7s Playbook” on April 3. Billy Barbour, 54, said he and his wife, Sharie, of Eugene stopped at Jiffy Stop, 15 S. Business Highway 54 in Eldon, to get gas before heading to Wal-Mart to a buy a new coffee pot.
While getting gas, they decided to try the new Scratchers called “Lucky 7s Playbook.”
“We bought two,” said Barbour when he claimed his prize at the Jefferson City Lottery headquarters office. “We took them home to play; we each took one. Mine was the winner.”
Barbour said the couple plan to “treat ourselves to a trip somewhere and take care of business” with the prize money.
“Lucky 7’s Playbook,” a $20 game that started March 31, is a “book” containing six Scratchers games and 122 chances to win cash prizes up to $250,000. More than $33.8 million in prizes remain in the game.
