A 22-year-old former retail clerk might’ve moved on to another position, but he received a hefty parting gift on March 18. Luke Presson of Fenton was visiting friends at San Luis ZX, 1501 Hawkins Road in Fenton, when he got the hankering for a Missouri Lottery ticket. What happened next fueled the first-time Lottery winner to nearly hit the floor.

“I just about fell to my knees,” Presson revealed, referring to the moment he uncovered a $25,000 prize on a “10X The Cash” Scratchers ticket. “It was shocking. I could barely talk.”

Presson’s friends and former co-workers at San Luis ZX “high-fived and screamed” when they saw the prize amount.

“I go in about every morning on my way to work,” he said, adding that he currently works as a fabric cutter at First Spear in Fenton. “Someone bought a ‘10X The Cash’ ticket right before me, so I told my buddy to go ahead and give me one of those. Everyone was stoked when I won.”

Presson plans to use the windfall to pay off his truck and save for an apartment.

“My parents didn’t believe me at first,” he recalled. “I’m hoping to move out of their house soon now that I have some extra money.”

10X The Cash”  is a $2 game with a top prize of $25,000. To date, four out of eight top prizes, and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $2 to $5,000, remain in play.
