A Lehman Construction employee built himself a nest egg on March 13, with the help of the Missouri Lottery and a brush with luck. Between equipment deliveries, Travis Stauffer of California stopped at Kmart, 11978 St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton, and won $10,000 on a “$1,000,000 Classic Cash” Scratchers ticket.

“I usually buy tickets with one of my co-workers,” Stauffer explained. “But, I bought this one on my own.”

The 40-year-old shop foreman joked that when his friend found out about his recent good fortune, “he was kicking himself for missing out.”

“We have this competition at work to see who can win the most (on Lottery tickets),” he added. “So far, I’m in the lead!”

Stauffer plans to use the windfall to surprise his 11-year-old daughter with a four-wheeler this spring.

“I’ll put some in savings, too,” he concluded.

$1,000,000 Classic Cash” is a $10 ticket with a top prize of $1 million and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $10 to $100,000.
