The Ford dealer in Houston is a fan of the Missouri Lottery. Glenn Romines Jr. is the owner of Romines Motors. He had some time to kill on Sunday, March 9, and decided to play Club Keno. Romines hit nine out of 10 spots to win $50,000. He likened the game to his daily life.
“I take a gamble every day I trade cars,” he noted.
Romines, 70, said he started playing Club Keno several years ago during a promotion.
“When I first started doing this, I hit on the four corners,” he explained. “I didn’t know what I was doing; had no idea. I thought, ‘Man, this is easy. Just get some numbers and you win like this.’ So, I came up with this system of playing all the numbers.”
Romines said he has taught a number of local residents how to play the game, and several will join him from time to time to play as group. He has won several prizes playing Keno.
“If you want people to play Club Keno, you have to do an education process,” he suggested. “This is the first time I’ve got nine (spots). This is the biggest amount I’ve won.”
Plans for the money include “paying bills.” Some of those bills are a project he’s working on for the community. His wife, Rita, sits on the board of directors for a local animal shelter. Romines is building a new animal “hotel” for the area.
“I guarantee you, we’re going to have the best animal hotel in the state of Missouri in 60 days,” he said.
Club Keno is a daily Draw Game with drawings every four minutes. Player choose between 1 and 10 numbers, also called “spots,” to play and win varying amounts based on the number of matches. Club Keno is available at any Missouri Lottery retail location as Keno To Go.
