A Granby woman sought some entertainment from the Missouri Lottery while she waited for her clothes to dry and ended up with a $50,000 prize. Amy Rice, 31, was doing laundry when she bought a “Bonus Crossword” Scratchers ticket at Kwik Mart, 738 E. McKinney, in Neosho. As she played the game, she began to note that something good was happening.
“I was scratching,” began Rice. “I was like, ‘Wow, I’m getting a lot of stuff, here.’ My boyfriend looked over and said, ‘Let me see that!’ I think I kind of freaked out and said, ‘Wait a minute. I’m not done!’”
When she was done, she held a ticket worth $50,000.
“I’ll probably buy a home and put money back for my kids,” offered Rice. “We might go on a shopping spree.”
She’ll also likely keep playing the Lottery. Rice offered this advice for other Lottery players.
“Don’t give up; keep trying. You never know,” she said.
“Bonus Crossword” is a $3 game that officially began Oct. 14, 2013. Rice claimed the fifth of eight top prizes in the game; more than $4 million in prizes remain. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
