A Kirkwood woman is going to enjoy season tickets to St. Louis Rams® home football games. Peggy Dames most recently lived in Colorado, but she has been spending all of her time back in Missouri caring for her ailing father. Dames said she hopes her father, a former state representative, can enjoy at least one of the games with her next football season. Dames won season tickets playing the Missouri Lottery Scratchers game featuring the St. Louis NFL team.
“My father is 96-years-old,” explained Dames. “He’s one of your former state representatives, the honorable Robert O. Snyder. He’s very old and needs care, so I’m there.”
Dames is a football fan, so, on one of her trips to Missouri, she noticed the “St. Louis Rams” Scratchers game and decided to take a chance. The ticket she bought at Huck’s Food Store, 10170 Manchester Road in Kirkwood, concealed the prize of 2014 St. Louis Rams season tickets.
“I thought, ‘Oh, a Rams ticket. I’ll buy a football ticket,’” she recalled. “I thought I had won two tickets to a game. It’s the whole shebang. It’s pretty cool.”
Dames, 59, stayed in Missouri this winter. She’s normally driving heavy equipment in a Colorado mine. For now, she’s focused on helping her father.
“You can turn right on a red light in Missouri because of this man,” she beamed. “He’s just an awesome, wonderful man. I said, ‘Dad, we’re going to a Rams game!’”
Excited about her win, the regular player suggested to others, “It can happen.”
“You can’t win if you don’t play, so every now and then, I do,” said Dames.
“St. Louis Rams” is a $5 game that officially began Aug. 29, 2013. It is no longer being distributed. The game featured a top prize of $70,000 and instant prizes of 2014 season tickets.
