Bruce Larson of Ballwin traded in some winning Missouri Lottery tickets for more, and ended up winning a $100,000 top prize. Larson bought three “50X The Cash” Scratchers tickets at Dirt Cheap, 15221 Manchester Road in Ballwin, and he uncovered the prize on the first ticket he scratched.
“I was still there in the gas station lot,” recalled Larson, 56. “I just pulled away from the pump and stopped before I got on the road and scratched it. I could not believe it.”
The supervisor at Ameren said he had about given up, but added that he will continue to play now. He joked that his wife, Barb, had been telling him to stop playing, but like the line from the movie, ‘Dumb and Dumber,’ he always figured he would win.
“So, you’re saying there’s a chance. There’s always a chance,” he said with a grin.
Plans for the windfall include some home remodeling.
“The biggest thing we’re going to do is redo our kitchen and do some flooring in our house,” he said. “It’s really nice in that regard; it’ll give us a chance to do that without having to borrow any money.”
“50X The Cash” is a $10 game that officially began Dec. 30, 2013. Larson claimed the first of three top prizes in the game. More than $33 million in prizes remain. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
