Each year, thousands of Missouri students strive to meet grade, attendance and community service requirements in order to earn an A+ Scholarship to attend a public community college, vocational school or technical institution. In order spotlight that effort, the Missouri Lottery – which provides 71 percent of the program’s funding – is holding the “Tools 4 School” prize drawing exclusively for current and former A+ college students.
One grand-prize winner will be randomly selected to win $2,500 in prize money to put toward books, a laptop or other school essentials. In addition, three first-prize winners will receive $1,000, and three second-prize winners will win $400.
From Feb. 24 through March 12, students who have used A+ funds to attend a post-secondary institution are invited to enter the drawing at MOLottery.com. To submit an entry, students should complete the online entry form in full, share how they benefited from the A+ program and attach a photo. Winners will be announced the week of April 1.
To date, 520 public high schools across the state have been designated as A+ Schools by the State Board of Education. For more about Missouri’s A+ Scholarship Program, administered by the Missouri Department of Higher Education, visit www.dhe.mo.gov.

Last year’s ’Tools 4 School’ winner of $2,500 was Colten Tullos from Koshkonong. Colten noted that "The A+ program helps to pay for books and tuition and makes it easier to attend college to better myself."
