Winning the Missouri Lottery wasn’t even the most exciting thing to happen to 50-year-old St. Charles County resident Kevin Crumes on Feb. 7. The lucky Lottery winner, who uncovered a $100,000 “MONOPOLY Jackpot” prize, said he is using the windfall to fulfill a dream several years in the making – bringing home a brand-new puppy.

“I lost my older dogs a few years ago, and the economy kind of put a hold on me getting a new puppy,” Crumes began. “Now, I’ll be able to do that and more.”

Crumes explained that the prize money will help him pay for the expenses he’ll accrue while traveling to California to adopt a giant schnauzer that was born last December.

“The puppy won’t be available until April,” he shared, teasing that he’s looking forward to having a dog to exercise him again, because he has “gotten a little lazy.”

The voice and data telecom specialist noted he’ll “still go to work every day,” but the win will make daily life easier.

“It is a very nice feeling, because I can use the funds now to get things paid off,” he added. “I am grateful.”

Crumes purchased the winning ticket at Gas N Shop, 100 Lake St. Louis Blvd., in St. Charles.

MONOPOLY Jackpot” offers top prizes of $100,000 and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $5 to $20,000. Through a second-chance “Collect and Win” bonus feature available via the My Lottery® Players Club, players can win up to $1 million.
