There were two winning Missouri Lottery tickets sold for the Jan. 29 Show Me Cash jackpot. A St. Ann woman has come forward with one of the winning tickets worth $325,500. Diane Dilworth, 57, claimed half of the $617,000 Show Me Cash jackpot. The other winning ticket was sold in Springfield.
Dilworth used Quick Pick to select her winning numbers. She said she’s been playing Show Me Cash consistently for about the last year. She’s been playing the Lottery much longer, claiming she’s always felt that she was going to be a winner.
“I’ve always had a dream of winning the Lottery. I’ve just always felt like I was going to do that,” she explained. “I kept being consistent through all the letdowns.”
Persistence paid off for Dilworth. She was checking the numbers the morning following the drawing when she realized her dream had come true.
“I got on the Internet, and I saw the numbers,” she recalled. “When I looked at the jackpot, I said, ‘Oh, somebody won!’ So, I got up, got my numbers and looked at them. It was me! I had those numbers. It was unbelievable.”
The winning Show Me Cash numbers for Jan. 29 were: 4, 6, 8, 13 and 19. Dilworth bought her winning ticket at QuikTrip, 10123 St. Charles Rock Road, in St. Ann. QuikTrip received a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Plans for the windfall were simple. The clinical pharmacy tech said she intends to pay some bills and purchase a new vehicle. She added that she might give her children and grandchildren a little something.
Dilworth is more than happy with her Show Me Cash win, even though she had to split it with another player.
“I’m glad someone else was able to get a little piece of it,” she said.
She’s going to keep playing, however. She is looking forward to getting a larger jackpot – like Powerball.
“I know I can win it bigger,” she declared. “It will happen when it’s time.”
Her plans for the big jackpot include helping the homeless, a new “green” home, and various urban agriculture projects. For now, she’s content with where she is.
“I’m just trying to stay calm, take it slow and make good decisions,” concluded Dilworth.
Show Me Cash is a daily draw game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. Dilworth claimed the 295th jackpot since the game began in 2008. In 2013, 57 Show Me Cash jackpots were awarded for an average amount of more than $161,000.
