Neosho Man Scratches Way to $100,000 Pay Day

Eric Lawson of Neosho was so surprised when he uncovered a $100,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery “Millionaire” Scratchers ticket that he “liked to pass out” from the realization. It all happened at Workman’s Mini Mart, 722 W. Spring St. in Neosho, where Lawson purchased the winning ticket on Jan. 23.

“This is the biggest I’ve ever won,” he said, explaining that he had bought three tickets earlier and won $75. “Something just told me to go back for the last one on that roll.”

Though winning Scratchers tickets are randomly scattered throughout all packs of tickets printed for a particular game, the urge to buy from the end proved to be a winning hunch for the 50-year-old.

Still absorbing what a $100,000 win could mean in his life, Lawson indicated he’s still trying to figure out what to do with his prize money.

Lawson’s $100,000 prize is one of 16 made available in the “Millionaire” game, which officially began May 20, 2013. The $10 ticket also offers a top prize of $1 million.

Players are encouraged to takes advantage of the Lottery’s mobile website to check remaining prizes for all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games.
