The Mega Millions jackpot has once again been increased due to high sales. The jackpot for this Tuesday night is now $586 million, which is the second-highest ever in the game and the fourth-highest ever in North America. The cash value of the jackpot is $316.5 million.
“Be sure to get your ticket early to avoid long lines, and above all, please play within your means,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “The Lottery is meant to be fun and entertaining.”
Mega Millions tickets can be purchased at more than 4,800 locations around the state until 8:59 p.m. on Tuesday night. There are nine prizes in the game ranging from $1 to the $586 million jackpot. The overall chances of winning any prize are 1 in 14.7.
Reardon said players should always sign their tickets immediately after they buy them, keep them in a safe place and be sure to check them after the drawing takes place.
“The great news is the proceeds from these big jackpot runs will benefit public education,” said Reardon.
