Joseph Bunch of Conway is the lucky Missouri Lottery winner to claim the first top prize in the “Season’s Greetings” Scratchers game, making him a quarter of a million dollars richer just in time for the holidays. Bunch, 61, bought the winning ticket at Hannah’s General Store, 725 W. Jefferson Ave. in Conway, and he claimed his prize on Dec. 2.
“I told my wife we needed to stop,” Bunch began, referring to the late November day he and Jeannine were driving by Hannah’s General Store after picking up supplies for their restaurant, the Rocking Chair. “I just got a feeling like I should get a ticket there.”
Bunch teased that his wife of 38 years was reluctant about his request, but she changed her tune after the pair discovered they’d won $250,000.
“She was smiling, but all I could do was cry,” he shared.
Bunch said that he and Jeannine plan to “head straight to the bank and pay everything off.”
When asked how she felt about the win, Jeannine added that she “never thought it would happen.”
“He plays a lot,” she started. “He’s won a bit in the past – but nothing like this. It’s exciting!”
Bunch summed up his Lottery-winning experience by saying it “tickled me to death!”
“Season’s Greetings” is a $10 ticket with a top prize of $250,000 and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $10 to $20,000.
