A Jackson County resident is heading into the holiday season half-a-million dollars richer. Kelly Richard Jr., 44, uncovered a second-tier prize on a Missouri Lottery “$3,000,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers ticket earlier this month. The game offers a top prize of $3 million taxes paid and a second prize of $500,000 taxes paid. Since Richard will have the taxes paid on his prize, he will receive a check for $500,000. The total prize amount is valued at $704,225.
Richard bought the winning ticket at QuikTrip, 10232 Wornall Road, in Kansas City.
$3,000,000 Taxes Paid” is a $20 game that officially started on Aug. 13, 2011. To date, one top prize and one second prize remain in play, as well as thousands of additional prizes ranging from $20 to $20,000.
