Rick Weissinger might’ve had his best birthday yet. On Sept. 24, the St. Charles County resident turned 48 and became an instant millionaire after uncovering a top prize on a Missouri Lottery “$1,000,000 Classic Cash” Scratchers ticket.

“I’m kind of in shock, really,” Weissinger shared, referring to the moment he scratched off the winning ticket he bought at Discount Smoke Shop, 1476 South Dr., in St. Charles. “I started shaking a little bit.”

The first-time Lottery winner said the prize will “definitely make things easier” by providing the means to pay off his student loans and truck.

Weissinger, a machine technician for a mailing company in St. Louis, is even “debating on quitting work.” Although he hasn’t decided if he’ll actually retire early, he does plan to “do a little bit of traveling” now that he has some extra money in his bank account.

$1,000,000 Classic Cash, ” a $10 game with a top prize of $1 million, officially started on Jan. 2. To date, two top prizes and thousands of additional prizes, ranging from $10 to $100,000, remain in play.
