Strong sales have pushed the Powerball jackpot to $425 million for tonight’s drawing, the third-highest jackpot ever offered in the game. The cash value of the jackpot is estimated at $244.7 million.
“People are once again dreaming about what they would do if they won a huge jackpot like this,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “While you have to have a ticket to win, we are also reminding players to play responsibly.”
Players have until 8:59 p.m. tonight to purchase Powerball tickets in Missouri.
Reardon also reminds players that there are nine ways to win a prize in Powerball.
“When you check your tickets after the drawing, check them closely,” she said. “Even if you don’t win the jackpot, there is a chance you may win one of the eight other prizes.”
Of the 45 lotteries that offer Powerball, Missouri is ranked second in terms of Powerball jackpot winners with 27.
