THREE PLAYERS WIN MUSTANGS IN LOTTERY PROMOTION

Three Missouri Lottery players will be cruising in style this spring after their names were drawn April 4 to win a 2001 red Ford Mustang in the Lottery’s "American Muscle" promotion. The top-prize winners in the promotion, which ran from Feb. 5 through Feb. 28, are: Don Bartolotta, 59, of Springfield; Phyllis Jamison, 66, of Platte City; and Becky Callaway, 49, of Foley. "You never dream you’re going to win," said Paula Bartolotta, Don’s wife, when Lottery officials called to announce the news. Don Bartolotta, who works the night shift at Sweetheart Cups, was asleep when the news came Friday afternoon. Becky Callaway said she also never thought she’d win a Mustang. Callaway said the Mustang first came out when she was graduating from high school and she remembers a couple of her friends getting them as graduation gifts. "I have a daughter who is graduating from high school this spring," she said. "If she thinks this is her graduation gift, she’s crazy." Phyllis Jamison, a retired Hallmark employee, was also caught by surprise. "I’ve got to get used to the idea," she told Lottery officials on Friday. In addition to the three Mustang winners, 20 players won a Toshiba 61-inch Cinema SeriesĀ® high-definition television, 50 players won $500 cash prizes, and 70 players won Bose radio/CD players. (See www.molottery.com for a complete list of winners.) With every $3 single-ticket purchase of Pick 3 or Pick 4 plays for drawings between Feb. 5 and Feb. 28, the Lottery terminal produced an entry ticket. Players mailed their completed entries to the Lottery to be entered into the promotion. The Lottery received more than 411,000 entries for the drawing, which was held April 4.
