After hearing that someone in Weston had won a $1 million Powerball prize, Jeff Keogh checked the ticket he had purchased for the drawing held two nights before. To his surprise, he had matched all five white-ball numbers drawn in the July 24 drawing. He and his wife, Rita, claimed their prize at the Missouri Lottery’s Kansas City office on July 29.

“I had a $10 ticket,” Keogh said, referencing the five plays he purchased for the drawing. “And it was on the very first line.”

He bought the ticket at Trex Mart, 18310 State Route 46 in Weston, allowing Quick Pick to generate the numbers for him. Trex Mart will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the $1 million ticket.

The Keogh’s win marks the 23rd time a Missouri Lottery player has won the Match 5 prize since Powerball enhancements were implemented in 2012.

Powerball is a multi-lottery Draw Game, played in 42 states, as well as Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  It features jackpots that start at $40 million, with drawings held every Wednesday and Saturday night.
