7-Eleven Contributes More Than $253,542 to Public Education

For the second consecutive year, 7-Eleven, 900 Shackleford Road in Florissant, was inducted into the Missouri Lottery’s Million Dollar Club, an elite group of 33 retailers, for selling more than $1 million in Lottery products last year. To celebrate the achievement, the Missouri Lottery hosted a customer appreciation event at the store on July 26.

“The real winner is public education,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “Lottery sales at this 7-Eleven alone generated more than $253,542 for public education in calendar year 2012.”

Reardon explained that the Million Dollar Club is a way to honor retail locations that are going above and beyond to raise money for a variety of programs, including A+ Scholarships, Virtual Schools, Special Education Excess Costs, Access Missouri, the Classroom Trust Fund, library acquisitions and educational scholarships.

“The customer appreciation event was meant to be a fun way to both highlight the store’s success and reward their customers by holding special in-store drawings and awarding prizes,” Reardon said.
