A stay-at-home mother from Ozark has uncovered the second top prize on a Missouri Lottery “Diamond 7” Scratchers ticket. Lacy Hoke, 27, bought the $100,000 winning ticket at Village Mart, 229 Village Center in Nixa, on July 8.

“We’ve been kind of going through a rough time, and I thought it would be a good idea if maybe we could win something,” began Hoke.

She said she began scratching the ticket at the store, but as soon as she realized she was going to win a substantial prize, she took the ticket home to share with family. After uncovering the $100,000 prize, Hoke “started making phone calls” to family and friends.

“Oh, everybody was just so happy for us,” she concluded.

Plans for the windfall include buying the home her family is currently renting.

“We’re going to have all our bills paid for, and it’s going to be nice,” she declared. “We’ll be able to finally get on our feet. It’s truly, truly a blessing.”

Summing up her experience, Hoke said, “You just got to play to win it, I guess.”

Diamond 7” is a $5 game that officially began June 24. This is the second of seven top prizes to be claimed in the game. More than $14 million in prizes remain.
