An Osage Beach man is looking to improve his living arrangements after winning $10,000 on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. Michael Pentridge, 21, asked his friend Zac for a ride to Jiffy Stop Food Mart, 3360 Bagnell Dam Blvd. in Lake Ozark, where Pentridge bought two “Triple Win” Scratchers tickets. The two friends scratched the tickets after returning to the car, where Pentridge uncovered the $10,000 prize.
“We freaked!” said Pentridge. “He called his girlfriend, I sent her (fiancée) a picture. We went and celebrated with the girl (clerk) inside!”
Pentridge, a national guardsman who works at Kwik Kar in Osage Beach, is engaged to his girlfriend, Destiny Jones. He said the money would be put to use right away.
“We’re moving,” he declared. “We’ve been planning on moving for a while, we just haven’t had the funds yet.”
Pentridge said he would split the prize with his friend, Zac, who helped him scratch the winning ticket. Zac Neville, who works with Pentridge at Kwik Kar, is also getting married and planning on moving soon.
Even though they enjoyed the winning moment while claiming the prize at Lottery headquarters on July 8, each stated they would be returning to work.
“We won, but we still have to go make the rest of the money,” stated Pentridge, noting that he was working his second job at a go-kart attraction that evening.
“Triple Win” is a $2 ticket that officially began June 24. The game features a top prize of $30,000. More than $8 million in prizes, including six top prizes, remain in the game.
