July is shaping up to be a winning month for Teresa Ahlert of Steedman, who claimed a $1,000 Scratchers prize one day, only to make the return trip to Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City to claim a $20,000 prize the very next day.
Ahlert, 47, uncovered the $20,000 prize on a “20X The Cash” ticket she purchased at Fast Lane, 1001 Bluff St. in Fulton, on her lunch break.
“I said, ‘Does this say what I think it does?’” she reminisced with a laugh, as she described scratching the winning ticket in her vehicle. “It said, ‘$1,000,’ then another ‘$1,000,’ then I saw the ‘20x’ symbol, and then I couldn’t even think.”
She returned to work for the rest of the day but admits to having a “had a hard time waiting” until she was free to make the short trip to the Lottery office.
Plans for the prize money include buying cows for the farm, paying off her truck and getting a flat screen TV.
Ahlert’s prize is one of 11 $20,000 prizes made available in the “20X The Cash” game, which officially began on Feb. 4 and offers a top prize of $100,000. Remaining prizes for this, and all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games, can be tracked on the Scratchers page at MOLottery.com.
