A St. Peters man now has “peace of mind for retirement” after claiming a $1 million Powerball prize from the June 15 drawing. Robert Janson, 56, matched all five white-ball numbers drawn – 28, 36, 40, 48 and 55 – to win the Match 5 prize on a ticket he purchased at QuikTrip, 8601 Mexico Road, in St. Charles.

“It’s amazing, but it’s hard to explain,” Janson said of his win. “I wasn’t sure it was true. It’ll feel real when I get the check.”

In addition to Janson’s prize, QuikTrip will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Powerball is a multi-lottery Draw Game with drawings on Wednesday and Saturday nights. Jackpots start at $40 million and grow until someone wins. Janson’s win marks the 20th time a Missouri Lottery player has won the $1 million Match 5 prize since Powerball enhancements were implemented in 2012.
