Hali Lewis of Ridgedale doesn’t play Missouri Lottery games often, but some “extra money” in her pocket prompted her to make a deal with a store clerk that turned out in her favor.

While paying for gas at Lynchburg Store, 40890 Highway 32 in Lynchburg, the 23-year-old and a cashier decided to each buy one “$1,000,000 Payout” Scratchers ticket at the same time. As luck would have it, Lewis won $100,000 on her ticket.
“I actually asked the guy behind the counter,” Lewis began. “I said, ‘Pick me out a good one.’ And that’s what he picked for me.”
The cosmetology student admitted that she was “almost in tears” after uncovering her prize.
“I just took a chance,” she reminisced.
Although the clerk didn’t fare quite as well as Lewis, he congratulated her and teased that he almost bought that ticket for himself.
Lewis plans to use the prize money to become debt-free.
“It’s going to help me be a lot less stressed about paying for school and making my car payments,” she added, noting that other celebratory plans include spending time with her family during a lake party.

$1,000,000 Payout” is a $10 game that officially started on Jan. 10, 2012.
