A St. Louis resident is $40,000 richer after taking a chance at winning the $590.5 million record-setting Powerball® jackpot on May 18. Rose White is one of six lucky Missourians to collect a second or third-tier prize from the historic Powerball drawing nearly two weeks ago.
White, who spent an extra $1 to add Power Play® to her $2 Quick Pick ticket, matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball. The feat was worth $10,000, but since she added Power Play, her winnings increased to the fixed Power Play prize of $40,000.
She bought her ticket at Beverly Hills Liquor and Grocery, 6714 Natural Bridge Road, in St. Louis. The winning numbers were: 10, 13, 14, 22, 52, and the Powerball was 11.
Powerball features jackpots starting at $40 million. The optional Power Play feature can increase a player’s original prize amount from $4 to $1 million.
Total sales from the recent Powerball jackpot run, which ran March 30 – May 18, were more than $26.3 million and will result in approximately $10.2 million in proceeds for public education in Missouri.
