Missouri Lottery Honored for Accounting Excellence

For the 13th consecutive year, the Missouri Lottery’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) has received the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting – the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.

“We work every day at the Missouri Lottery to provide funds for public education, so it’s very important to us that we have transparency in our operations,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “Our chief financial officer, Judy Gehrke, and her staff are diligent in making sure our CAFR meets the GFOA’s highest standards for fully communicating the Lottery’s financial story.”

The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
